Grand Tetons
But not to despair, I am a devoted fan of Ansel Adam's work and work diligently to create black and white images in homage to his great vision. I am a believer that black and white captures the true essence of a scene and required the viewer to be an active participant in viewing the image.
So, while I was hoping to capture the majesty of fall, I instead decided my purpose was to capture the majesty and grandeur of the Grand Teton mountains.

entry description
We visited Grand Teton National Park in September 2015 to experience see the Tetons bracketed by fall colors. Timing of peak fall colors varies from year to year depending on a variety of factors. The week We chose has historically been "peak fall color week", however, drier and warmer than normal conditions resulted in good, but not great fall colors and predominately clear skies and warm days. Each day for a week I arrived at my desired photographing location well before sunrise, only to be greeted with harsh light that washed out the skies and colors, filters only mediating the situation slightly. But not to despair, I am a devoted fan of Ansel Adam's work and work diligently to create black and white images in homage to his great vision.
