Dance of the Angel Trumpet
My intent is to suggest what kinds of art could follow after the long-standing history of the static fine art bouquet. Plants dancing around in real time can be seen as a new "still" life because today we have wonderful media that can see what escapes the human eye. I, too, am unable to see the outcome of the dance while it is happening.

My work continues to be honored with international awards and exhibitions.

entry description
The "Dance of the Angel Trumpet" Series explores what can be accomplished creatively within specific restraints, namely, 1) subject matter is one or more of the same flower, the angel's trumpet and 2) each frame is a document of what physically happened within that extended slice of time - nothing is added or subtracted or changed in software. My intent is to suggest what kinds of art could follow after the long-standing history of the static fine art bouquet. Plants dancing around in real time can be seen as a new "still" life because today we have wonderful media that can see what escapes the human eye. I, too, am unable to see the outcome of the dance while it is happening.

about the photographer
Graduated from the University of California, Berkeley with Honors and a year's studies at Karl August Universitaet, Goettingen, I begin silver printing 35 years ago and studied with many master photographers. Though I've continuously enjoyed having a darkroom, currently it's photograms, solarizations, lumen prints, and lith printing that take me there, and digital for the rest of the work.My work continues to be honored with international awards and exhibitions.
