Tree Birth
Mindfulness naturally comes into play in a photographer’s daily life. Radina uses this aspect of photography to expose the beauty in nature through explorative studies of wood - living or dead. Her Driftwood Creatures series, along with Tree Birth and Textures of Wood take the approach of biological study of life communicated using trees and driftwood in subject composition. Haematology, histology, and evolutionary biology inspire Radina's approach in her works. Radina’s current interests involve the study of mixed media arts and its potential to enrich the visual communication power of the photographic arts.

entry description
Tree Birth explores human embryonic development superimposed on trees. Cell division and foetal development are illustrated using tree stumps and pieces. Birth signifies life, while tree stumps signify death, and together these ideas represent the circle of life. The human connection with nature is exposed by illustrating a human biological process using the tree as a representative of nature.about the photographer
