Les étoiles de Paris
During those photo-reportages in Paris, i have always done photographies of people daylife, passers-by, artists, talks, waiting situations, demonstrations, sporting events... Little by little, this collection which is like the memory of my multiple crossings of Paris has been growing. This is now around 400 black and white photographies divided into four series : ("Paris des illusions", "Six secondes d'hésitation", "J'attends toujours l'autobus", "Manifestation")
For the last three months, I have not been taking photographs of the Parisians in the streets anymore, but at the heart of their professions. I have started this immersion with the starred kitchens of the City of Light. Thus, I am now working on this new serie "Les étoiles de Paris".
In the kitchens, the guiding line is to catch the glint in the eyes, the attitudes, the elegance of the cooking moves, but also the strains between the head chef and his team, the talks between the head chef and his second-in-command, the interactions between the dining room and the kitchen, and all the highlights of the hidden face of the starred restaurants of Paris.
Those photographs are like a book of life, a record of what it takes to handle such kitchens. The photography makes us feel the spirit and the atmosphere of a kitchen. It catchs events, little or big, and makes us feel behind the scenes of those amazing dishes.

Back in 2010, I began working on my humanist photography project. It is now materialized by four draft books showing a glimpse of the portrait of Paris that I am building. I have had this project in mind since 1992 and my participation at the exhibition "Portrait d'une capitale" which took place at the Carnavalet museum, during the month of photography.During those photo-reportages in Paris, i have always done photographies of people daylife, passers-by, artists, talks, waiting situations, demonstrations, sporting events...
