entry description
Near Venafro (IS ) is the French war cemetery in which are buried about 7,000 French soldiers , Moroccans , Algerians and Tunisians , as well as some African unidentified , mostly fallen during the battle of Cassino (nov. 1943 - May 1944 ) .For them it is have been erected two monuments , a cappella works by Andrè Chatelin , Rome Grand Prix , and a minaret , decorated with blue ceramic tiles , which stand out against the white-washed walls , and with some inscriptions . Inside there are some tombs , one of which is unknown to the Muslim soldier , and three dedicated to soldiers by name, one Tunisian , one Algerian, a Moroccan . I chose to take the pictures from the helicopter to emphasize the linearity of its architecture. With some imagination , its texture vaguely reminiscent a set of microchips .about the photographer
