Circle Of Fire
By moving the camera whilst shooting I’m effectively painting with light and the scene in front of the camera becomes the most wonderful brush. Although abstract I always try and maintain a resonance with the organic nature of the subject even if it is not obvious what the subject was and hence try to offer an insight into the excitement and energy I feel when I am out with my camera.

entry description
Circle Of Fire was taken in March 2017 on Puttenham Common, Surrey. UK. The sun was setting and I rotated the camera during the exposure to create this circle of light that seems to cut through and ignite the tree standing in the foreground. I'm fascinated with this technique of camera movement as it enables me to create abstract wondrous images using the world around me. It's as though there is another dimension that can only be seen with the addition of time and motion.about the photographer
My photography explores the world that we know, of trees and landscapes, a world that is regarded as static and adds time and motion into the mix. These additions unlock a pallete of textures, colours and patterns that highlight aspects of our amazing environment that can often be overlooked.By moving the camera whilst shooting I’m effectively painting with light and the scene in front of the camera becomes the most wonderful brush.
