Emily
Social prejudices, eagerness for power or materialsim fade away in each one of these images, but there is more to be said. The figure of that rabbit woman, her central position in the space, her quietness and stillness, as well as that embellished and pure garden express a kind of doubt and suspicion of the unknown that make this tribute to fantasy an ambigous idea of happiness. On the one hand, there is a lost paradise where escaping the real world is possible; but on the other hand, there is a hidden referent in that escape, a restless need to create surrealistic reasons to escape the routine of our existence.
Fantasy is necessary because life has an expiraty date and is unpredictable. Just by defying the laws of nature and physics , we can transcend the unexplainable and the underside of happiness. These photographs try to escape the uneasiness that being alive brings about.

entry description
Emily series is based on an antagonistic vision of existence; a kind of hope is delivered while life expiration is implied in the figure, the scene and the yexture. There is no doubt that this series seeks some shelter in childhood and naivety to express the happiness of fantasy, its joyful and impossible nature. This aesthetics is similar to that of Carroll and Saint-Expeury, who tried to sublimate the tough and pragmatic laws that rule reality.Social prejudices, eagerness for power or materialsim fade away in each one of these images, but there is more to be said.
