about the photographer
Cristian Castelnuovo born in 1977, is a professional photographer. He graduated with an MA in Photographic Arts at Westminster University in London and has undertaken photographic works worldwide in the fields of art, fashion, politics and architecture. In 1999 his first work in India documenting the Rata Yatra religious festival in Puri, in the same year he made the photo reportage on street children in Mumbai. In 2002 he was hired by the Go-runway agency then joined Grazia Neri photo agency and in 2004 Massimo Sestini News Pictures. In 2006 he started working for ANSA and won the Celeste Art Price. In 2007 he was a weekly contributing editor for Corriere della Sera Magazine, worked for Mediaset Sky, Aljazeera and other Tv broadcasters. During his professional career to date, he has illustrated 6 books and about 30 art catalogs, he has shot over 50 cover stories and 300 assigned for magazines and newspapers. In the catalogs and on the covers, the works and portraits of characters such as Modigliani, Michelangelo Pistoletto, Norman Foster, Richard Meier and Italo Rota. With his photographs, as an author, he participates in more than 30 art exhibitions and fairs. In 2009 he exhibited in Giardini della Biennale in Venice. In 2012 he privately met and photographed the Dalai Lama, this work received an honorable mention at the IPA International Photographic Awards. In 2014 he joins for a year, Cesura, In 2017 he founds the Centro Fotografico Cagliari in Sardegna, an art gallery where he hosts local and international photography exhibitions. In 2018 he starts working with Italian instagrammers and u tubers on social media campaigns of brands such as Huawei, Calvin Klein, Carrera, Havaianas, Puma and Timberland. In 2020, begins an assiduous collaboration with the e-commerce giant Amazon. He lives in Cagliari.back to gallery
