The wrestlers begin each session by flattening the floor of the ring, an act that is both resistance training and an exercise in self-discipline and concentration, but like everything in India is a gesture full of sacredness and respect. Prepared the arena is turned on the 'incense and blessed and purified the field by offering prayers to the patron deity of the gym, usually Hanuman (the Monkey God warrior of the Ramayana) and Guru. Start at this point a grueling fight melee in the clay, with outlets and levers the two bodies becoming one, hair and sweaty bodies are covered with clay, almost to not make them see and breathe, muscle tension It is an extreme limit and the meeting goes on till the complete submission of the opponent.
This fight is probably, in all its variants, the most 'ancient method of unarmed combat used by humans. In this way, in times that over have ended wars, it established the supremacy and decided the fates of entire peoples; when the battles were too long and no winners, they were left to challenge two valiant men, alone, unarmed and entered in the space of land that separated the two armies, who silently stopped to watch the progress of history
I started to taking pictures since as a child. Around 16 years old i began to direct my passion toward photo-reportage
especially in social, anthropology, and travel photography. i really like the traditional and spiritual aspect of different
people and culture that i meet in journey. I always use the natural light present in the place when i take pictures and for
the digital postproduction i use only the techniques similar at those possible in the "darkroom".
I use both digital and analogic film reflex camera.
I have published my images in several newspaper and magazine in italy, and some images in Photographic Book edited
by Graffiti Press Agency which i collaborate from some years.

entry description
The fighting, body to body, that unites taken, throws, levers and which is intended to subdue the opponent on the ground has very ancient origin. The strenuous physical exercise, with outdated equipment and means that seem to us far away, strengthen the wrestlers, who are preparing to fight in a ring of clay,(arena or Akhara) wearing only a loincloth.
