Levity of White

entry description
I was inspired for this series during a trip to Lanzarote, one of the Canary Islands. All the white buildings there, the blue sky, the warm sun and the sea were the perfect combination for easy summer feelings. So I decided to portray the architecture of the island in minimalist images. The colour "white" in architecture means transparency for me and makes the existing forms, lines and structures immediately and trouble-free perceptible. White architecture seems light and effortless. This series is a tribute to levity of white.about the photographer
Birgit Schlosser is a Visual Designer and Photographer, with a strong preference for architectural and landscape photography, trying to capture them with a minimalist approach. She is particularly interested in modern, monumental architecture and its variety of geometric forms and extraordinary design. As landscape photographer she's looking for vastness, stillness, the sublime - and sometimes also a touch of surrealism.back to gallery
