"Tranquility in the Womb" -This piece was inspired by a baby in the mother's womb. Untouched and unaltered by the world's handprints. I have chosen a pale, pastel and low saturated color palette to portray the clean and pure status of the unborn. Elements such as the white veil contributes to convey purity and women hood of the mother. In this photoshoot I have used a bathtub and experimented with milky water to express the hazy yet cozy atmosphere of the womb. This is my interpretation and recreation of a scene before birth.about the photographer
Hi my name is Esther Park and I am currently a year 13 student attending Pinehurst College in Auckland New Zealand. I am currently study ing Art and Graphics at school and also in the process of preparing a fashion portfolio for universities in London. Living in today's society I am drawn to the subject of strong, liberated women and the unity of sisterhood that we have established and voiced into today 's society. My works- whether it be paintings, designs or photography, the aspect of women hood inspires me in the early stages of planning a new project. As I was preparing my portfolio and as the theme of "Tranquility in the Womb" was starting take on structure, I started to experiment with models, taking photos and recreating the mother's womb and my interpretation of a scene before birth.
