Samaritans Ceremony

The tiny community of the Samaritans includes only about 800 people. They live on Mount Gerizim, Nablus and in Holon, Israel. They consider themselves the original Israelites. On the Shavuot holiday night they all join at the mountain, begin with prayers at their synagogue, and then march in darkness to the summit, where before and after sunrise they stop for praying at 6 sacred spots.back to gallery
