entry description
Immersion is a series of images that looks deep into the city of New York. The idea behind this collection was to immerse the viewer into the photograph by concentrating the exposure levels on the main subject within the frame. I wanted each iconic building to have 'favouritism', making sure they are the centre of attention. New York is certainly a photogenic city with many famous, professional and amateur photographs taking advantage of this beauty. I wanted to try to capture something different and hopefully do this classic cityscape justice.about the photographer
Anthony Lamb (b.1976) in the UK, he completed a BA (hons) in Art History and Furniture and Product Design. Anthony has over 40 international photography awards and 17 years experience as a photographer, he is based in the UK and UAE. Anthony incorporates a minimalistic approach within his photography and this simplicity shifts our perspective so the imagery is less about actual place and more about emotional state. In his photographs he uses negative space and an ethereal aesthetic to provide the viewer with a sense of serenity and calm, sharing the emotions of the moments he captures. His post-production style offers pastel expressionism to further sooth the soul offering the viewer the opportunity of escape into the purest essence of solitude. Anthony is drawn to water and open space, so you will see this narrative in many of his photographs. “My wish is to offer different frames of reference that transport you to a place that is suspended between reality and surrealism"back to gallery
