entry description
During the curfew imposed by the indian authorities, a group of boys swim in the Dal Lake of Srinagar, Kashmir, the only safe area of the city. The valley of Kashmir is contested between India and Pakistan since 1947 and is one of the most militarised zone in the world. There, the population is trapped in an endless winter of suffering whilst hoping for a spring of azadi (“freedom” in Urdu language).I believe this image conveys a sense of calmness wich is very uncommon to have when you looking at most of the pictures that are coming form Kashmir.
