Arbores
From 1989-2004 she lived and worked in New York City as a freelance editorial portrait, travel and fine art photographer. She moved back to her native Germany in 2005 where she continues her pursuits in experimental photography, creating different fine art series like “Noise”, “Quality of Rest”, “Lying in your Absence” and the most current “Organica”, “Urbanus” and “Arbores”. Driven by an interest in psychology, she went back to university and received her Master of Science in cognitive affective neuroscience at the University of Dresden.
She lives with her husband, her stepson and chocolate Labrador Bela in Dresden and Berlin.

The images for this ongoing project called “Arbores” depict trees barren or in full bloom and were taken in a small nearby park in Dresden, Germany. As a former travel photographer my recent walking impairment and therefore restricted mobility associated with progressive Multiple Sclerosis have led to the creation of these imaginary layered landscapes as as an extension of my fondest wish to widen my sphere of activity and to discover newness in the familiar.about the photographer
Silvia Otte was born in Bremen, Germany in 1966 and is the daughter of contemporary composer Hans Otte. She studied photography at the Bavarian State Academy for photography from 1987-1989.From 1989-2004 she lived and worked in New York City as a freelance editorial portrait, travel and fine art photographer. She moved back to her native Germany in 2005 where she continues her pursuits in experimental photography, creating different fine art series like “Noise”, “Quality of Rest”, “Lying in your Absence” and the most current “Organica”, “Urbanus” and “Arbores”.
