A hippo – one of the African species causing the most accidents – collecting kigelia fruits from the dust near a tented camp in Zimbabwe. During the day this animal was bathing in the River Zambezi, and in the evening he would appear by our tents to collect the leaves and fruits which had fallen down during the day. We were astonished to see that after dinner it lay down comfortably between two tents to get a good night’s sleep.about the photographer
