title
A different scene
In my work, I wanted to stage a strange space that we can’t identify clearly, that could be nowhere
and everywhere and where we can have access to our unconscious.
I wanted a dark background in reference to Caravaggio in order to create an atmosphere in which
the spectator finds himself face to face with my creatures.
The title is a reference to the unconscious or subconscious that Sigmund Freud called «a different
scene».
In this work, humans and insects are living together. It is a reference to fairy tales, fables,
Mythology or Lewis Caroll’s story Alice adventures in wonderland.
I also wanted to highlight insects, because most of the time humans despise them or don't pay attention to them, or they are afraid. My images are also a utopia of a space where insects and humans live together, where the domination of one species over the other is blurred.
Art was not part of the everyday life of my family but since childhood I feel a real need to express my sensitivity. After various wanderings and experiences I finally started studying art and I moved to Brittany.
I am currently preparing a DNSEP at the Brittany School of Art in Quimper.
I use photography, animation, staging objects to bring objects to life and look. Modest objects, damaged and forgotten, anthropomorphic figures are my muses and my actors.
With the game of scale I like that the dominated becomes disturbing or dominant ..
