The title of this series is 花鳥風月 (Kachou Fuugetsu), which in Japanese language literally means Flower, Bird, Wind, Moon. However, the extended meaning of this expression is: "Experience the beauties of nature, and in doing so learn about yourself". A few years ago, I have recovered from a devastating depression and wanted to experience the world anew. I also aimed to document my recovery and gratefulness for the improvement of my mental health.I decided to concentrate on places that I had always been fascinated about: the islands. Kachou Fuugetsu was the motto of my exploration of the islands in every corner of the world. I decided to visit as many islands as possible (by now I have visited 105 islands) and through experiencing the beauty of these places, I want to explore my soul, learn about myself and grow the gratefulness. The islands featured on the photos are Kyushu (Japan), Fuerteventura (Spain), Andoeya (Norway) and Noervoeya (Nørway)about the photographer
