Insomnipresence
This series brings insomnia to life through personification, creating a visible monster. As a backdrop for this, I have created a magical world where day and night are visible at the same time; compressing time into one single moment while capturing multiple facets of everyday life.
After many years of self-taught practice and experimentation, I was accepted as a stock photographer by all the major micro stock libraries. However, this only proved my proficiency with the technical side. I decided to focus on creative learning, embarking on a BA (Hons) Photography as an adult, through distance learning. Having lived in the Middle-East for the last ten years, I have used photography as a way of documenting both my surroundings and my life.

entry description
Insomnia affects as many as one in three people. This set of images speak of insomnia’s omnipresence; waiting patiently in the wings for darkness to fall. Its presence always known, yet never seen. about the photographer
Originally from Scotland, I have been working in the graphic design industry as a creative artworker for over 25 years in various geographical locations. I have been working with photographic imagery on a daily basis – selecting, editing and retouching. During this time, I also began to nurture my passion for creating my own images. After many years of self-taught practice and experimentation, I was accepted as a stock photographer by all the major micro stock libraries.
