..I took this image in July whilst doing an ongoing project on the Indian Relay Riders an ongoing personal project.This was taken at a powwow in Sheridan Wyoming... I asked these two proud young native girls if I could take that picture I was so struck by the proud strong pose dressed in beautiful traditional native American clothing,whilst wearing mirrored Aviation sunglasses..the contrast and connection between present day and yesteryear.As I was composing I noticed a young cowboy staring intently at me, I moved back so I could frame him as well And the result is an outstanding image that transcends into a deeper and more profound message about cowboys and Indians and the weight of history that goes with these two groups ...for me this is in the top three images I have taken in the last few yearsabout the photographer
I am currently living in Los Angeles after emigrating from the UK 26 years ago.The son of a working class Irish Mother and Scottish Father .I have a BA(Hons)n Visual Communication from Nottingham University where i specialized in Documentary Photography.
