entry description
This is a composite of (10) sixty second astro tracked images showcasing of the core of the Milky Way over Northern California's Mt. Shasta. The tracker holds the camera's orientation with the stars throughout the series of captures, but that means the landscape moves during this succession of exposures. By combining these images, one can get far greater color depth and detail of the star field compared to what one could get on a single untracked exposure. While traditionally this Milky Way image would be combined with a separate still shot of the mountain, I was captivated by the look of this "intermediate" step and chose to work with it for an alternative treatment.about the photographer
Fine Art San Francisco Bay Area Photographer with a focus on landscape photography. I especially enjoy playing with how the camera "sees" differently - how it can see the colors in the Milky Way, or create a softening of the flow of water or fog.Instagram: @tripodtales
