entry description
This landscape was photographed during a 17 day road trip through the southwest. My wife and I had planned this trip in order to celebrate our 5th anniversary. We were accompanied by our 2 year-old son. Landscape photography and family life aren't a seamless fit due to the time required to excel in both so I find that my most productive photo shoots while traveling with family tends to be at sunrise while my family sleeps in. On this morning it was barely above freezing and quite windy since it was still in the shoulder season.about the photographer
Nature photography is more than just pretty pictures to me. Nature photography is both my savior and my therapist. Early on, photography became a creative outlet for me to express myself as I struggled to establish myself following college while also helping me to cope with my dad’s terminal illness. While my landscape and nature photos might sometimes look beautiful, it is rarely my intent to showcase beauty for beauty’s sake. Most of my favorite artwork seek to relive specific memories and feelings from my youth. I hope that my artwork can bring similar joy to your life as it has mine.back to gallery
