title
CHIAROSCURO
Do we really know people when we only see what they look like, in appearance ? Do people really know themselves ?
To my mind, nude photography means purity and gives us a glimpse of who people really are; so when I began this series, artistic nude seemed obvious to me.
Studio shooting allows introspection and gives the opportunity to have control over things. Going straight to the point and transcribe the idea.
Chiaroscuro highlights the duality between dark and light. In fact, I chose to show some body parts only, with a hidden face, most of the time ; this detail is not innocent, this is an analogy of a mask.
Indeed, this series refers to a kind of allegory of modern society. I like the way you see the contour of the model. Letting you guess who the person really is . It brings back to the fact that you don’t really show people who you are . By the way, do we know who we really are ?
The passion for photography took me very early when I was travelling the world during my teenage years. I was capturing all my last discoveries and emotions. I was aspiring to keep traces, messages from the past, landscapes, faces, everything that represented what my life was.
As a music lover, I began to take pictures of live shows where the magic of the moment , the colors, the lights and the spontaneity are transcending me.
Later, I wanted to learn more with inspiring people and achieved my first portrait gallery. I was very pleased to get the positive feedback of my models when they first saw the pictures. It encouraged me a lot.
At this time, I realized that photography would never leave me and decided to create my own business as a professional photographer.
What all my series have in common is the need to transcend the image of women. I really want to highlight fragility , beauty and also power and strength of will women have. In order to achieve that, I focused on poses, look and outfits I chose.
