Skin Project. Visions.
PROJECTS
2017 - Skin Project (India)
A story in pictures about skin, made in 2017 in Delhi, Agra, Bhopal and Mumbai. I portrayed albino people, acid attacked women, children affected by Bhopal chemical plant poisoning, kushti wrestlers
2018 - Beyond the Line (Iraqi Kurdistan)
Portraits of peshmerga soldiers, in their everyday life, showing their scars. I also portrayed together some female soldiers in full uniform with a gay boy dressed with a tulle skirt.
2019 - Maze of Metamorphosis (Japan)
A project that explores the difficulty of Japanese society in expressing itself frankly and truthfully, which has taken me far beyond what I initially thought. I asked three butoh performers to become a space or a thing for me when they interacted with my subjects, carefully chosen to represent unsolved social issues: a salaryman, a hikikomori, a shaman robot, a giant phallus. I also portrayed some people without limbs who thanks to fashion, art and sport have been able to find new sources of beauty and meaning.

entry description
This picture is a part of a series called "Skin Project. Visions", made in 2018. It's a reflection about freedom and diversity.about the photographer
I was born in Bergamo, Italy in 1975. I have been working as a hairstylist and make up artist since she was 17. In 2004, while on a trip to Asia, I discovered an interest in reportage photography. I has since travelled extensively pursuing my passion for photography and “telling stories worthy of being told.”PROJECTS
