εkspedisjɔ̃
For the first time in over 23 expeditions, the participants were unable to cross the 30 km wide lake, due to the weather. The lake has its own weather system. In the same day, we started at a temperature of 0ºC, got rain then full sun; in the afternoon, we got hit by a whiteout and then, the sun hit us again. Late aftenoon, the winds started to pick-up to eventually reach peaks at 90km/h in the evening, breaking the dome tents, while the temperature was reaching a low of -30ºC.
That was just the first day.
These images are excerpts of a 3 days trek and wish to illustrate the resilience of the participants in such diverse weather systems.
