title
Moments in Time
Minks: "Our boxer used to be my big friend and my sweetest toy. I slept with him in his basket." She recreated the living room from then, with the wallpaper from that time, a plant in the corner and a floor plan on the wall. "I have recreated everything, because I want to keep everything under control from A to Z. That gives me the security to make everything exactly the way I want it. "
"Moments in Time" is about my own experiences and memories throughout life, and is thereby a very personal look back on meaningful experiences that formed the person that I am.
Minks creates cinematic photos, staged in her studio with elaborately detailed sets of daily life in created interiors, a Hotel room or even a stable with a rather alienated and uneasy quietude. "I have always been fascinated by the still image because you can take the time to discover every detail."
With her rather alienated and uncomfortable images with their immaculately staged lighting and sombre, solitary figures, it becomes clear that Gregory Grewdson and Edward Hopper are both great examples for her. The images Minks creates are based on her own memories, experiences and fantasies.

entry description
When Minks knew she wanted to stage scenes in her studio, the ideas came naturally. "I started looking for a space where I could build scenes." She made the "Moments in Time" series, drawing on her own childhood and adult life. This leads to images of a baby with a dog, a pensive woman on the edge of a bed, a horse girl cleaning a saddle.Minks: "Our boxer used to be my big friend and my sweetest toy. about the photographer
Judith Minks (1969) After 18 years as a optician, she was completely done with this profession. “I decided to explore my fascination with the still image.” Minks started with the FotoAcademie Amsterdam and graduated cum laude. “I like to have complete control over everything I do and this also applies to my photography.” It is therefore logical that she photographs in a studio.Minks creates cinematic photos, staged in her studio with elaborately detailed sets of daily life in created interiors, a Hotel room or even a stable with a rather alienated and uneasy quietude.
