Faces Of The Far North
Svalbard is a Norwegian archipelago, which blends remoteness, thriving wildlife, fragile environment, and grounds hard to access.
During these summer months, the sun is 24 hours up, which brings so many challenges as Light is key for landscape photography.
Living and working up there has brought me the opportunity to capture photographs that no one has ever seen before, and to access places where no one goes.
Not only I was able to witness the fragility of the environment this far up North, but I was also able to use my photography skills to illustrate it.
Moreover, Svalbard is famous for its wildlife, but rare are the photographers who venture and spend time focusing on Landscape photography up here, as the wilderness always takes the lead. With a lot of work, minimalism, technique, spontaneity, luck, I am really happy to share this series "Faces Of The Far North".
I grew up in a small town between Lyon and Switzerland, and left France in may 2011 to explore the world, and discover my passions for the great outdoors and photography.
I discovered completely diverse environments which helped me working on my photo compositions & technics , and becoming a full time outdoor guide in April 2016.
Patience and creativity is all you need.
I believe in self teaching. This huge passion pushes him everyday and night to improve and became now part of my everyday life.
The photos I capture in my portfolio are the result of thousands of hours spent outside under snowstorm, strong winds, heavy heat, freezing cold temperatures, long drives, great hikes, early mornings, late evenings, and tremendous amount of time spent waiting and facing nature without knowing what will come.
That's what keeps him in love with Landscape and Night Photography;
The No Control aspect of it.
