A Symbiotic Relationship
While the remora feeds off of the shark's parasites on its skin and mouth, the shark stays clean and healthy - both species benefit from each other.
"A Symbiotic Relationship" was taken during a dive in Florida, 2019.
In 2016, she started with underwater photography, specialising in shark photography. The main aim of her photography is to raise awareness, educate people about the importance of sharks for our ecosystem and also to portray sharks in an aesthetically beautiful way. Moreover, with her pictures Gillian wants to give people access to a different world they maybe do not have the chance to explore themselves.

Gillian is a Swiss shark photographer based in Australia. Her initial fear of sharks turned into a fascination and passion for these incredibly misunderstood animals once she saw them in their natural habitat during one of her first dives.In 2016, she started with underwater photography, specialising in shark photography. The main aim of her photography is to raise awareness, educate people about the importance of sharks for our ecosystem and also to portray sharks in an aesthetically beautiful way.
