The Magic Lantern
Fantasies, loves, wanderings ... Memories of childhood, places and disappeared beings, each series of photographs is in itself a universe and all the images could resemble the psyche of a being observing its existence, in search of his lost memory.
He dedicated himself to painting at the age of 23, after studying music.Over the years, he synthesizes this work on the body and space by creating cycles of canvases designed like films. Each image becomes a shot, a camera angle, and offers those who watch to be fully involved in the painting.Today, he expands this research even further through the use of photography in the context of a new project: The Magic Lantern. A parallel world, at the border of reality, imbued with sensuality, dreaminess and melancholy.
François Ferrier also co-wrote Le Louvre insolent, published by anamosa editions, and is currently working on a graphic novel for which he signs the screenplay and produces the illustrations.

entry description
Inspired by the magic lanterns of past centuries, which projected images painted on a glass plate through a lens and thus opened a window to the imagination, this work at the border between dream and reality is an access to the secret world that each carries within itself.Fantasies, loves, wanderings ... Memories of childhood, places and disappeared beings, each series of photographs is in itself a universe and all the images could resemble the psyche of a being observing its existence, in search of his lost memory.
