Holding the Line
I was inspired by the state of our environment and imagining a world where we live in balance with nature, rather than in exploitation of. The landscape is weighted and worn, but hopeful. The addition of texture and sepia tone visually blur the line between the past and present.
Her passion for photography started as a teenager when her father gave her an old manual Minolta, and while her current work is digital, it is reminiscent of analog images. With a gritty atmospheric quality, it speaks to the raw beauty of nature and brings the viewer into the scene with its rich tactile layers. Capturing the feeling of a place or a moment is the driving force behind all her work.
After spending the past twenty years in Northwest Arkansas, working in product design and trend, a move to Carmel-by-the-Sea, California, in 2020, motivated a renewed attention on her artistic creativity.
Recently, returning to Rogers, Arkansas, Terése is continuing her artistic journey, exploring the characteristics of the local landscape and flora as well as different photography approaches.
