Etruscan Warrior
A few years ago when I had just started photography, I discovered during one of my trips to Tuscany this small umbrella pine forest in a bay. From the first sight I had this image in my mind. Immediately, I set out to find a horse that could do this trick on command and had owners who could bring it to this location for my picture. The search for the perfect horse for this picture took almost three years and in April 2019, it finally happened! Since the path to the beach passes under these trees, we had to wait for a moment when no one was walking under the trees. When the sun disappeared behind the horizon, we were able to set up the horse undisturbed at just the right moment and a few minutes later the picture I had dreamed of for so long was in the can.
I booked my first workshop on horse photography in 2017. Since then I have tried to educate myself and learn from people who are great role models for me in photography, but not only horse photographers, for example Katarzyna Okrzesik-Mikolajek, Ekaterina Druz, Malin Wengdahl and Cayetano Gonzales.

about the photographer
My Name is Alica Mák and I was born 1986 in Stuttgart / Germany with Hungarian roots. I live in a small village in southern Germany on the edge of the beautiful Black Forest. In my main job I work as a nurse in intensive care. My passion for photography started in my youth with an old analogue Minolta camera that I took with me on every trip and photographed everything that seemed interesting to me. When the camera finally broke down in the middle of 2016, I bought my first digital APSC camera which I used to take countless pictures of my own Horse. Half a year later I started taking pictures of the horses of friends. And already in May 2017 I registered my business.I booked my first workshop on horse photography in 2017. Since then I have tried to educate myself and learn from people who are great role models for me in photography, but not only horse photographers, for example Katarzyna Okrzesik-Mikolajek, Ekaterina Druz, Malin Wengdahl and Cayetano Gonzales.
