Urban Landscapes
My intention taking these photos is, firstly to capture the beauty of these urban landscapes and secondly to influence those who view them so that, when they are in their own urban environments, they might lift their eyes up so that their gaze might go beyond and further out.

entry description
Much has been said of how life in our big cities dehumanises its inhabitants, limiting their perspective. That’s what it seems like when we walk down our streets, trapped in our daily life and routines. Our gaze is drawn only to elements which are in our horizontal line of sight. Anything that is above that eye-line is lost to us. Yet if we were to raise our gaze, we would discover intriguing and surprising vertical landscapes that we have never noticed before. And these landscapes have always been there. My intention taking these photos is, firstly to capture the beauty of these urban landscapes and secondly to influence those who view them so that, when they are in their own urban environments, they might lift their eyes up so that their gaze might go beyond and further out.
