entry description
A series of images featuring the incredible landscapes of the American Southwest and specifically encompassing the Navajo Nation (Tsekooh is Navajo for Canyons - or rock-riverbed). The region is geologically defined by the Colorado Plateau comprising a series of tablelands located within an immense natural basin surrounded by highlands. Stream valleys that are typically narrow and widely spaced dissect the region, as do larger valleys, including many spectacular and famous canyons. These ancient mountains, plateaus and buttes (the mean elevation is over 6000ft above sea level) were created from water, wind and volcanic activity moulded over millions of years - and in doing so created a rich diversity of spectacular rock formations and patterns which I have longed to explore!about the photographer
My photographic journey began over 40 years ago as a teenager learning the fundamentals of the craft in the darkroom and with large plate cameras. This early interest was matched by my passion for technology and entrepreneurship which has led me on path of discovery and exploration in countries and cultures throughout the world. Having lived and worked on four continents, I now reside in the USA and combine extensive global travel with a passion for Fine Art photography."I try to distill an image down to its uncluttered form, which is why I favor B+W where less can say more."back to gallery
