In the Arctic autumn, it's all about food
While I was watching the cub, the larger male suddenly appeared to chase her away from its food supplies under the rocks and subsequently drank from the small stream right next to me.
It was amazing how well adapted they were to their environment. The spotted fur, slowly changing for winter, blended in perfectly with the autumnal surroundings.

entry description
This photo series was taken during my first encounter with Arctic foxes in Svalbard. When this young female spotted me on her foraging trip, she curiously crept towards me as I was hiking in Björndalen in search of Arctic foxes. While I was watching the cub, the larger male suddenly appeared to chase her away from its food supplies under the rocks and subsequently drank from the small stream right next to me.

about the photographer
I'm a non-professional wildlife photographer, born (11th May 1998) and living in the western part of Switzerland. Since my childhood I have been fascinated by wildlife and the different habitats. As a child, I lived with my parents right on the edge of the forest, which is why I was often out in the woods with them and developed a deep affection for nature. In 2009, I took my first steps in photography with a digital camera from my father. When I became a teenager, I developed a great fascination for the north of Europe and the Arctic, in which regions I can now often be found. My greatest passion is to capture the encounter between me and the animal as familiar as possible to give the viewer an intimate and magical moment into the life of the animal. The most important thing for me is that when I am out in nature, I am completely absorbed in my surroundings and respect them in every way.back to gallery
