Into the Rising Light
Because of my fascination with patterns, music scores, systems of writing and other graphic structures, my work always has been inhabited by geometric shapes, lines and rhythm. My current passion is the abstract beauty of architecture. Through my photographic compositions I hope to inspire and touch people's souls.

entry description
This is my contribution to the Venice Art Biennale’s exhibition Personal Structures. It is currently exhibited from April - November 2022 at the Palazzo Bembo in the centre of Venice. It is a photographic kaleidoscope, based on my images of a contemporary hotel complex in Denmark, digitally compiled into a new perspective view on reality. It portrays a densely built, dynamic place, full of rhythm, angles and reflections. It is my associative reference to Venice itself. In my view this city has a similar hectic atmosphere, with streets full of hidden corners and the omnipresent reflections by light and water.about the photographer
I am a photographing artist based in The Netherlands. In 1990 I graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts in Tilburg specializing in photography, painting and drawing. Since the development of digital photography my camera and computer have become my main tools for creation.Because of my fascination with patterns, music scores, systems of writing and other graphic structures, my work always has been inhabited by geometric shapes, lines and rhythm. My current passion is the abstract beauty of architecture. Through my photographic compositions I hope to inspire and touch people's souls.
