I use small UV light in this photo to draw 'light' onto the model (who sits in a completely dark room). The photo was taken at the slowest shutter speed possible & minimum post-processing was used (the only change was to change the image to black and white).
I wanted to use a different method of photography to achieve a more statuesque figure of a subject giving one the feeling that they are staring at an authentic sculpture.

entry description
Just like in renaissance paintings, I wanted to use contrasting amounts of light to indicate depth and space on the subject.I use small UV light in this photo to draw 'light' onto the model (who sits in a completely dark room). The photo was taken at the slowest shutter speed possible & minimum post-processing was used (the only change was to change the image to black and white).

about the photographer
The work is often bold and abstract, although some might have visual connections to classical paintings depicting motionless statues. Photographer often works in series, and each piece informs the next through a theme. A true believer in “letting creativity take control,” it's not uncommon for Topangu to start creative projects simultaneouslyback to gallery
