Aeonic Chroma
One way history manifest itself today is through deposits of vibrantly colored minerals. Volcanic ash, iron oxide, and other minerals have come to be laid down and then revealed through upheaval or erosion. I like to think of these colorful minerals as a literal form of geological history. The story of cataclysmic seismic events told by a line of blue tinted ash.
Since I was a child enamored with dinosaurs, I have been endlessly intrigued by the world before we, as we are, arrived. There was a time before us. The piecing together of disparate artifacts to produce a picture of something that no longer exists is uniquely human, insofar as we can tell. These photographs, a selection of colorful strata, are my way of participating in a relationship with the ancient earth. We'll never be able to experience the past as we do the present, or plan for it like we do the future, but recognizing the past and appreciating how it tells its story is an experience in its own way.

Time leaves it's mark everywhere. The past is written on essentially every surface imaginable.
