Light, Stone & Water
The relation between the permanence of the concrete structures and the ephemeral when interacting with the surrounding water features.
In the case of The Eye the mirror reflection being ephemeral but in that moment when captured becoming permanent, the building and the temporary reflection creating in that moment an eye.
The long exposure which slowed the movement of water in the foreground of the Bosjes Chapel image created a reflection that generates movement bringing movement below the innate structure.
The body of water surrounding the building creating soft reflections of the main subject but also of all the surrounding architecture not only create a sensation of floatation as well as the lighting create a sense of outer worldliness.

about the photographer
I am a professional photographer working mostly in black & white. My style ranges from, fine art architecture, fine art street to moody landscapes. The simplicity of monochromatic imagery, the rich, deep and detailed blacks coupled with crisp whites and all the tones in between, for me makes mundane, marvellous. I often use long exposures & enjoy working in low light creating low-key images which I find are more emotive.back to gallery
