Redressed
The Nyhavna area in Trondheim is a fusion bowl of daytime and nighttime businesses ranging from conventional harbour activities and industrial enterprises of different sizes via commercial offices and public services to sports, music, art and strategic buildings from WWII. The heterogeneity facilitates our art and that of many other artists — and innovative entrepreneurs in various fields. The confidence in diversity opens up space for life and co-creation.
We want to reflect this complex environment in this series by juxtaposing costume fragments that we (the costume designers) produced for different theatrical performances around the country and thus actualizing their context here. Connecting the stories of these performances and their production circumstances is a visualisation of a multifaceted reality. Using what is given thus lends richness to more than a new piece of art. Redressing is an enriching and sustainable way to handle art, a neighbourhood and life itself.
