Bayside Life
Technical Aspects
The shot is a mega panel image. Imagine a grid of 9 different shots and then merging them into one shot.
The camera is place 3' 6" behind the scenes. It was taken with an ALPA HR ALPAGON 5.6 / 90 mm Rodenstock in an electronic shutter, a ALPA x/y camera body and a ALPA SILX electronic shutter control. the movements were 25mm rise and fall and shifted left and right 25mm, Phaseone IQ3 100, which requires a Lens Cast Calibration for each shot.
The speed required to take 3 shots across the top, center, and bottom as well as the LCC creates several technical challenges. The shots must be completed extremely fast without and camera shake in order to capture the correct lighting. This could not have been achieved without the ALPA x/y, ALPA SILX and my Wine Country filter holder for the LCC.
Software initially CaptureOne 22, then Camera RAW and Photoshop.

entry description
This shot was not staged... nothing was moved to create in the image. It reflects the Bayside Life. The High Tide, Setting Sun, Weathered Dock, Paddle Board and the Birdhouses all have delighted so many over the years and this night was no exception.Technical Aspects

about the photographer
I am an Architectural Photographer with 20 years experience. My speciality is in creating views as if you are standing there looking at the scene. This is accomplished by taking photographs of several sections of the view and then merging them into one image. Color management is one of my favorite aspects in my process.back to gallery
