The Procession of the Desolate takes place on Holy Saturday through the streets of the historic center of Canosa di Puglia, and is one of the most evocative and popular events of the Easter period. It is made up of various elements, among these the most important and evocative is the choir made up of over 350 women dressed in black with their faces completely covered who, accompanied by the local marching band, sing Jacopone da Todi's "Stabat Mater".about the photographer
