title
Cicadas
After twenty-seven years of life education, he decided he was ready to get a college education, but not before he had one more journey. In 2007, he flew to Thailand with a one-way ticket to live on an island and meet people from around the world. He wanted to challenge himself to travel alone in a completely foreign place and really figure out what he wanted from life.
He returned to Louisiana and studied fiction writing with Bev Marshall. He had multiple short stories published by journals around the world, and received the RM Kinder Award for Realistic Fiction in 2012. In 2013 he received his masters degree and began teaching freshman composition at SLU. After three years, Dusty changed careers to marketing. He began his professional career in videography with Envoc, a software company out of Baton Rouge.
Now, Dusty is the video manager at Anntoine Marketing and Design.
In his free time, Dusty shoots music videos for local musicians, experiments with new photography techniques, and sells his art at pop-up markets and the Hammond Farmers Market.
Dusty lives in his great grandparents’ home with his dog, Bender, and recently got engaged to the love of his life, Stephen King (not the author).

entry description
My cicada series is a collection of cicadas from around the world. I used a combination of focus stacking and panoramic techniques to create large-scale, detailed images. I gathered the specimens from cruelty free collectors.about the photographer
