In my free time I travel throughout the U.S, as well as internationally. I enjoy camping and hiking into the many wilderness areas of the western U.S. I continue teaching location and classroom photography workshops with Arizona Highways Magazine and am frequently asked to guest speak at various photography organizations. I also continue working on personal photo projects, and exhibiting my work.

entry description
Creation of this photo composite was my response to the disquieting political turn at the start of our century’s 3rd decade. The image was actually created just before the beginning of the pandemic. Little did I know how eerily prophetic the image was at the time.about the photographer
Within the last year, I retired as Prof. Emeritus from Mesa Community College in Arizona after teaching digital photography in the Art Department for 15 years. Prior to teaching, I spent 20 years shooting editorial and assignment photography while living in Southern California. As a result of many years shooting editorial photography, I tend toward images rich in conceptual symbolism and graphic impact. I often feel what I choose to leave out of a photo is just as important as what I choose to include, since visually simplifying an image seems to help me clarify the message. In my free time I travel throughout the U.S, as well as internationally.
