Icelandic Grandeur
Using long exposure techniques and leveraging the morning light, I aimed to capture the warmth and flow of Iceland amidst the large and at times cold and harsh landscape. The scenery was breathtaking and memorable. A bit overwhelmed, my plan was to showcase the magnitude and scale of the landscape in the best light.
"Icelandic Grandeur" is a glimpse into nature and the wonder of a place that seems so far away. I hope these images evoke a sense of dream meets reality and serve as a source of inspiration. Iceland is the dream and a landscape that should be eternally cherished.
Dan is an Instructor at Chicago Photography Classes and volunteers with FreshLens Chicago, an organization that provides tuition free photography and life skills programs for under-resourced Chicago youth.
Growing up in the Adirondacks provided Dan with access to extraordinary nature and landscapes. He is an avid runner, having completed the six Abbott World Major Marathons. Dan loves travel, adventure, and exploration. These experiences have fueled his passion for photography, specifically landscapes, nature, and color.

"Icelandic Grandeur" is a visual exploration of the Icelandic landscape featuring the majestic mountains, the awe-inspiring waterfalls, and the magical seascapes. The heart of this project reveals the grandeur, although often mystical and shrouded in clouds.Using long exposure techniques and leveraging the morning light, I aimed to capture the warmth and flow of Iceland amidst the large and at times cold and harsh landscape. Dan is a photographer based in Chicago, IL. He was born and raised in Glens Falls, NY, a small town located at the base of the Adirondack park. Dan graduated from St. Bonaventure University with a Bachelors in Business Administration, with majors in Management Science and Marketing.Dan is an Instructor at Chicago Photography Classes and volunteers with FreshLens Chicago, an organization that provides tuition free photography and life skills programs for under-resourced Chicago youth.
