entry description
For centuries, tribal members followed migrating bison across the American West. Today, for a few months, members of tribal nations from Idaho, Oregon, Montana and Wyoming gather at a bottleneck just outside Yellowstone National Park to harvest animals for consumption, ceremonies and to feel connected to their ancestors. For the past few years, I've been invited to join the tribes and document their hunt, their love for these iconic animals and the importance they continue to play in tribal life.Shot by his grandfather, Honoh’oe Fasthorse hugs a harvested bison at Beattie Gulch, MT.
