《Memories on the Yangtze River》
The photographs document the Chinese people I saw along the Yangtze River. I tried to show another state of Chinese people and the Yangtze River, a surreal dystopia on the banks of the Yangtze. From transportation ports to cultural landmarks, old people walking along the river, children playing together, couples gazing at the Yangtze, tourists taking pictures of each other... The Yangtze, as one of the symbols of China's history, also carries so many identities. It is a symbol, a confidant or a memory for those who live by the river and always full of possibilities.
I have taken thousands of photos, and at the moment I press the shutter, time, scenes, and people's behavior are all frozen with the Yangtze, even I have started to adapt to the heat and humidity of the riverside region. The Yangtze - a memory carrier that connects our past and present

entry description
I was born in 2000, 20 years after the China's reform and opening up. Since the reform and opening up of China, the port cities (regions) along the Yangtze River have become more and more closely connected with the world under the wave of globalization, and the economy of the riverside cities has grown so rapidly, leading to a gradual change in people's relationship with the Yangtze River: the positioning of the Yangtze River has gradually become blurred, and people along the river seem to have more expectations and confusion about the world. The Yangtze River is slowly taking on a new identity and positioning - as a sort of "change" theme park - and it's a place where people can enjoy the beauty of the city. I became interested in the relationship between the riverside individuals and the Yangtze River, and embarked on a personal journey in Nanjing, Wuhan and Chongqing. The photographs document the Chinese people I saw along the Yangtze River.
