The Red Sea
My artistic practice is based on photography, a medium that allows me to immerse myself in unique experiences and explore diversity, landscapes, and different cultures, where my subjects, human beings exist simultaneously as characters and coauthors, within a narrative beyond the trivial perception of everyday life. The search for meaning is a continuous process for me.
Being a photographer since the early seventies, I continue to experiment with all types of photographic media, subjects, and compositions to create a connection for all who view my work. Emotion is the most substantial component of my work.
“The Red Sea” is a visual composition depicting the raw emotional experiences that we all go through and often remain under the surface.
“The Red Sea” is a limited edition giclée produced by the artist on archival paper.

about the photographer
Born and raised in Athens, I took up the camera in the early 1980s and a couple of years later I began my formal training in photography while studying Topography at The National Technical University of Athens (1983-1989). My work is motivated by an existential need to express myself and connect with others, and understand the many and often incompatible sides of the ego, in a journey of self-discovery and self-expression. My intention is to create work that facilitates intimacy with the viewer and encourages empathy. Since my first solo exhibition in 1988, my work has been presented in many group exhibitions and 7 solo shows and I have been awarded international awards and distinctions. I have published 3 photographic albums and 4 Artbooks. Some of my works are in public and private collections. Member of the Chamber of Fine Arts of Greece.back to gallery
