Le Chant de l'Aigle [Ardabek]
In 2015, I became a member of the National Geographic Photography Community (natgeoyourshot), which serves as an exceptional "school of photography". My deep desire to understand the world & its diverse cultures has brought me closer to documentary, cultural, & humanitarian portraiture, as well as architecture (historical monuments & sites) & landscape photography.

entry description
Hunting with eagles is an ancient practice that has been passed down through generations. It is a practice that demands patience, dedication, & a deep understanding of avian behavior. It is traditionally passed down from the father or grandfather to the child at a young age. But, not all children develop that special bond with the eagle. For example here is 16y.o Ardabek, son of Eagle Hunter Koki Tolek & grandson of the great Master Baytei Babii (his statue can be seen in the central square of Ulgii City, Bayan-Ulgii’s Capital). His father explained, that Ardabek expressed his desire to be trained in the art of eagle-hunting from a very young age, but his twin brother Ordabek did not. Eagle hunter's don't push their children to follow. The bond formed between the hunter & the eagle is profound, it is a call built on mutual respect.about the photographer
My name is Apostolos Kaloudis, and I am an adventurer. I regard myself as an adventurer/explorer, rather than a photographer. My enthusiasm for exploration was significantly influenced by my studies in Medieval History, during which I became engrossed in the intricate narratives & details of military campaigns. This passion has since inspired me to journey through remote regions, including the Silk Road, the expansive steppes & deserts of Central Asia & northern China, as well as former Himalayan Kingdoms. In 2015, I became a member of the National Geographic Photography Community (natgeoyourshot), which serves as an exceptional "school of photography".
