Belonging to the night
Echoing the tonal qualities and emotional depth of those painters, I have sought to translate the nuanced beauty of the night into visual storytelling. Elements such as tranquil landscapes, rustic scenes, and ethereal lighting draw parallels with the romantic and naturalistic themes prevalent in Polish art.
In addition to the influence of Polish painting, I have also drawn inspiration from historical examples of nocturne photography. Pioneers of the genre, such as Brassai, Alfred Stieglitz, and Bill Brandt, have informed my approach, guiding me in capturing the mystery and allure that the night inherently possesses.
Through this series, I aim to weave a visual narrative that not only pays tribute to the legacy of Polish painting but also explores the timeless allure of the nocturnal world through the lens of contemporary photography. Each image is a testament to the enduring fascination with the interplay between darkness and light, echoing the sentiments expressed by both the painters of old and the early masters of nocturne photography.
My main passion is painting and drawing but I have also never lost my interest in the medium of photography which, in some sense, is an essential accomplishment of accompaniment to my artistic language.
I use my camera to transfer and materialise the emotions which develop in my mind, the excitement caused by encountered reality. Sometimes the photos can abstract from reality, showing different aspects of colours and forms, whereas other times they can simply reflect certain situations taking place in front of my camera.

entry description
In this series of nocturne landscape photographs, I pay homage to the evocative atmospheres and poetic narratives found in the works of these esteemed painters. The subtle interplay of moonlight and shadows, reminiscent of the chiaroscuro technique employed by these artists, is a central theme in my compositions.Echoing the tonal qualities and emotional depth of those painters, I have sought to translate the nuanced beauty of the night into visual storytelling.
