Nordic Splendor: Lofoten Islands
Dan is an Instructor at Chicago Photography Classes and volunteers with FreshLens Chicago, an organization that provides tuition free photography and life skills programs for under-resourced Chicago youth.
Growing up in the Adirondacks provided Dan with access to extraordinary nature and landscapes. He is an avid runner, having completed the six Abbott World Major Marathons. Dan loves travel, adventure, and exploration. These experiences have fueled his passion for photography, specifically landscapes, nature, and color.

Winter is magical in the Lofoten Islands, Norway. This location is one of the most popular and iconic, and I could see why. The village, set in the harbor with a majestic mountain backdrop, was magnificent and left me in awe. I wanted to create a dreamlike scene and share the enchantment of this place. To show movement in the clouds and create a smooth surface on the harbor, I set up for a long exposure. The traditional fishing cabins and the grand Festhelltinden Mountain surrounding the harbor created a scene of spectacular Nordic splendor.about the photographer
Dan is a photographer based in Chicago, IL. He was born and raised in Glens Falls, NY, a small town located at the base of the Adirondack park. Dan graduated from St. Bonaventure University with a Bachelors in Business Administration, with majors in Management Science and Marketing.Dan is an Instructor at Chicago Photography Classes and volunteers with FreshLens Chicago, an organization that provides tuition free photography and life skills programs for under-resourced Chicago youth.
